After more than 65 hours of research into 53 VPN services, we found TunnelBear to be the most open and dependable provider, with quick, secure connections and simple setup.
- Wirecutter (A New York Times Company)
What does TunnelBear do?
TunnelBear encrypts your internet connection and sends it through servers located in many countries, hiding your IP address and keeping what you do online private.
Does online privacy justify the price?
Your data has real value. A VPN such as TunnelBear shields your browsing history, personal details, and online activity from advertisers, ISPs, and hackers, and costs less each month than a cup of coffee.
How can I tell TunnelBear is on?
Once TunnelBear connects, the bear animation finishes and a green status indicator shows up. You can also check your IP address, which will point to the location of the server you picked.
Does TunnelBear make browsing slower?
To keep speed loss small, TunnelBear relies on the fastest protocols on offer, WireGuard among them. For everyday browsing and streaming, most people see little or no difference.
How many devices work with one TunnelBear account?
With the Unlimited plan there is no device cap, so your desktop, laptop, phone, and tablet are all covered. The Free plan also runs on every device, as long as you stay within the monthly data allowance.
What makes TunnelBear better than other VPNs?
Each year TunnelBear releases independent security audits, follows a strict no-logs policy, and has the trust of millions of users around the globe. Wirecutter named it the most transparent and trustworthy VPN provider.
